Alexander Roman
Alex was born in Puerto Rico, but didn't spend much time there as his dad's military career kept them traveling. He's been to France, Austria and Germany! It would be exotic and wonderful if he could remember it.
They settled in The States and the story goes that, thanks to his mother, he soon picked up a pencil and began to draw.
No serious attempts were made until the creation of Alex's first character in 1993 or so. After that, he had a mission: to create and tell visual stories to the best of his abilities. Practice practice practice, drawing drawing drawing, art art art. It was a touch more than just a hobby after that. In school he took art classes, most of them he ironically failed. It wasn't until late highschool and college where his limits were tested and he seemed to flourish. From 2003 to 2009, he worked toward perfecting his craft at The Art Institute of Atlanta, where he graduated from the Media Arts and Animation program.
Specializing in animation, Alex takes inspiration from many artists and sources. The work of Brian and Mike- creators of Avatar:The Last Airbender, any and all classical Disney animation has to offer in the way of craftsmen, Tv (Farscape, Buffy, Supernatural, etc), Games (Halo, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assassins Creed, etc), music, comics, and life as a whole. Inspiration is an unlimited resource! Variety is the driving sorce of Alex's work.
When not drawing, he enjoys writing in his spare time. As well he enjoys on-line gaming through his Xbox to stay connected to distant friends. Currently, he resides in Edmonton Alberta with his wife.
